[September 12, 2018, Edgewood, MD] A Baltimore man is facing charges after a significant amount of drugs were found in his vehicle following a traffic stop in Edgewood.

On September 7, 2018, at approximately 10:18 a.m., a deputy assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office was traveling in the area of Harford Square Drive in Edgewood. While in the area, he received a license plate reader (LPR) “hit” for a vehicle registered to a wanted individual. A short time later, another deputy traveling in the area located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

After executing the stop, the deputy made contact with the operator of the vehicle and confirmed he was wanted for 2nd degree assault. The suspect, identified as Artiis Williams, 36, of Baltimore, was taken into custody. Upon initiating the arrest, the deputy began a search of Williams’ person and vehicle. As a result of the search, the deputy discovered 79 grams of cocaine and 72 grams of heroin with a total estimated street value of over $16,000. The deputy also discovered more than $2,800 in cash.
Williams was charged with CDS possession with intent to distribute and transported to the Harford County Detention Center. Following an initial appearance before a district court commissioner, Williams was released on his own recognizance for the CDS charges, but was held on no bail for the assault warrant. On September 10 at a bail review hearing, his bail was reduced to $25,000. Williams posted bail later that day.
