[June 19, 2015, Edgewood, MD] Harford County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested a man wanted in connection to an armed robbery where the victim was shot.
At approximately 11:19 am, on June 17, 2015, patrol deputies from the Southern Precinct were called to the Starlite Plaza for the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, Patrol deputies learned that during an armed robbery attempt, an employee of Starlite Pawn was shot in the arm. Emergency Services were notified, however the victim refused treatment.
Patrol deputies, assisted by members of the Maryland State Police, canvased the area, but were unable to locate the suspect who had fled the store.
Detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and members of the Forensic Services Unit responded to the scene to assume the investigation. Detectives learned that during the robbery a struggle ensued and the victim was shot.
As a result of the investigation, Antwon Lee Johnson, 31, of the unit block of Arbor Drive in Essex was charged with attempted first degree murder, attempted second degree murder, firearm use in commission of a felony or violent crime, first degree assault, second degree assault, armed robbery, attempted theft, robbery, possession of a firearm with felony conviction, and reckless endangerment.
Deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct and Crime Suppression Unit arrested Johnson without incident on Friday morning. Johnson was transported to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Southern Precinct, where he was questioned by detectives before being transported to the Harford County Detention Center where he remains awaiting a district court hearing.
