Deputies are investigating a motor vehicle crash that left an Edgewood woman dead early Sunday morning.
On August 29, 2021, at 2:32 a.m., deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1400 block of Trimble Road in Edgewood for the report of a motor vehicle collision. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a two vehicle head on collision involving a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe. The sole occupant of the Silverado, identified as Philip Buchanan, 33, of Edgewood, refused medical treatment. The driver of the Hyundai, identified as Linda Diamond, 59, of Edgewood, was transported to the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, where she later died. Two juvenile occupants of the Hyundai, both 11-years-old were transported to the Johns Hopkins Hospital for treatment of what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. A fourth occupant of the Hyundai, a 3-year-old, was uninjured.
Deputies assigned to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Crash Team responded to the scene to assume the investigation into the cause and circumstances of the crash.
Preliminary information gathered at the scene indicates Buchanan was traveling westbound on Trimble Road, when for an unknown reason he crossed the center line and struck the Hyundai head on. At this time, drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in this crash.
The investigation is active and ongoing. No further information will be released at this time.
