Visiting

Harford County Detention Center(HCDC) holds inmate visitations on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Sunday from 09:00 to 3:00 PM. All visitors must register and set up an account in advance at: www.gtlvisitme.com, through the Google Browser only. This is mandatory to visit an inmate. There will be a limited number of visiting during those time periods. Inmates will be allowed one visit per week with a limit of two visitors at a time, including children.

Parking

All visitors must park in the upper parking lot. Parking in the lower lot is restricted to authorized personnel only and may result in your vehicle being towed.

Note: If you have a valid Handicap parking placard or license plate, you can park in the handicap parking spots located on the lower lot.

Visitors:

All visitors must pre-schedule a visiting session at: https://harfordcountymd.gtlvisitme.com/app after completing the mandatory registration process. All visits must be scheduled a minimum of 7 days in advance and any modifications or cancellations must be made no later than 2 days before the visit.

In keeping with HCDC policy:

  • Any visitor under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • All visitors must have a valid photo ID issued by a federal, state or local government entity.
  • On the scheduled date, visitors must be at the designated area at the main entrance to the HCDC no later than 15 minutes prior to the visiting start time.
  • To register for a visitation time, an individual must be listed on the inmate’s visiting list.

COVID-19 Precautions:

All visitors will be required to follow the following precautions, or risk losing their visiting opportunity:

  • Masks – all visitors age 2 and over are required to bring and wear a face mask.  No masks will be available at the HCDC.
  • Temperature Checks –HCDC Staff will conduct a temperature check on all visitors prior to entering the facility.  Anyone with a temperature of 100 degrees or higher will not be allow to enter.
  • Social Distancing – Social distancing requirements will be maintained at all times in line at the entrance, in the lobby, and in the visiting areas.  Visitors will remain in their assigned visiting booth for the duration of the visit.  Anyone with small children must supervise those children and keep them in the booth for the duration of the visit.
  • Sanitization – Hand sanitizer will be available in the lobby and staff will sanitize all public areas and visitation booths between visits.
  • Property – Visitors are encouraged to leave items in their vehicle. Lockers can be used to store personal property if the visitor doesn’t have a vehicle.

Visitation Cancellation:

HCDC reserves the right to cancel or suspend visitation for security or health reasons with no notice.  If visitation is cancelled, visitors will be notified via e-mail used to register the visit.

Proper Attire

All visitors, to include children, must dress appropriately for visitation. All clothing must cover from the
neck to the kneecaps.

All visitors to the Harford County Detention Center are required to adhere to the following dress code:

  • Clothing must be appropriate for a professional environment where children may be present.
  • Shorts, skirts and dresses must reach the knee. Slits in skirts or dresses maybe no higher than
    the knee.
  • Shoulders, back midriff, sides, excessive cleavage and bust must be covered.
  • Tops or dresses that have revealing necklines and/or excessive splits are not allowed.
  • No tube tops, tank tops or halter tops, spaghetti straps.
  • No-see through or sheer clothing.
  • No form fitting clothes such as leotards, spandex, leggings and jeggings.
  • No clothing displaying profanity, obscene images or promoting drugs, alcohol, violence or gangs
    is permitted.
  • No coats, jackets and hoodies (If worn they must be placed in a locker immediately upon arrival)
  • No handbags, purses or briefcases.
  • Cell phones and smartwatches must be silenced when entering the Detention Center. The items
    must be placed in a locker. If the phone rings while in the locker, your visit will be terminated.
    It is not recommended visitors bring personal belongings to the Detention Center. The
    Detention Center will not be responsible for any article(s) lost, damaged or stolen from vehicles
    parked on our property.

Failure to adhere to the above dress code will result in denial of visits.
