Bank Robbery Arrest

[December 9, 2016, Joppa, MD] Detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation’s Division charged a Joppa man Thursday night in connection to a bank robbery that occurred in Harford County in September.

On September 28, 2016, at approximately 2:03pm., deputies assigned to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Southern Precinctand troopers from the Bel Air and JFK Barracks responded to the Wells Fargo Bank in the 400 block of Constant Friendship Boulevard for the report of a bank robbery. Upon arrival, it was learned that an unknown black male approached the teller, handed over a note demanding money, and implied he had a weapon. The suspect fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported as a result of the robbery.

Additional deputiesand troopersrespondedto the scene to canvas the area, with assistance from a K9 unit. The suspect was not located during the canvas. Detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigations Division(CID) responded to the bank, and assumed the investigation. Detectives assigned to the Forensic Services Unit responded to process the scene for evidence.

Detectives continued their investigation and were able to develop a suspect. The accusedis identified as Ervin Lorenzo White, 32, of Joppa, Maryland. On December, 8,2016, deputies executed a search warrant at White’s residence and were able to take himinto custody without incident.

White is charged with armed robbery, robbery, first degree assault and other related charges.

After being interviewed by Sheriff’s Office Detectives, Whitewas transported to the Harford County Detention Center and subsequently released on $25,000 bail.
