Two Suspects Arrested for Theft, Third Sought

Two people are in custody, and deputies are attempting to locate a third, in connection to medication thefts at local pharmacies.

On May 22, 2022, at 7:24 p.m. deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Walgreens in the 2000 block of Rock Spring Road in Forest Hill for the report of a theft in progress. Upon arrival, deputies were informed two unknown individuals had filled a bag with numerous items, including a large quantity of over the counter medications, and fled the store prior to deputies’ arrival. The suspects matched the description of the suspects in a similar theft that occurred earlier in the day at the Walgreens in the 1300 block of Riverside Parkway, in Belcamp.

Deputies immediately broadcast a description of the suspects, and suspected vehicle and began an area canvass. Shortly before 8 p.m., deputies conducting proactive patrol checks on local pharmacies, discovered a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle’s description at the Walgreens in the 2100 block of Fallston Road in Fallston. Deputies made contact with two individuals connected to the vehicle, when they returned to the vehicle, and located items taken during the other Walgreens thefts, and other local retail establishments. The suspects are identified as Dezire Shyn Wenner, 22 of Harlem, New York, and Kenyata Johnson, 25, of New York City, New York. Both were taken into custody and transported to the Criminal Investigations Division for interview. Additional investigation has led sheriff’s detectives to believe a third suspect was involved in the thefts.

The investigations into the thefts were assumed by detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division. Detectives were supported by investigators with the Sheriff’s Office Forensic Services Unit.

Following their interview, Wenner and Johnson were charged with theft $100 to under $1,500, theft $1,500 to under $25,000 and other related charged. They were both transported to the Harford County Detention Center, where they are being held without bail.

The investigation is ongoing. Detectives are attempting to locate the third suspect. No further information will be released at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigations Division at 410-836-5442.
