Detectives Investigating Non-Fatal Shooting

Two men are recovering, and detectives are investigating, following a shooting in Edgewood on Thursday night.

On December 16, 2021, at 7:31 p.m., deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1400 block of Waltman Road in Edgewood for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim, identified as Damon Hilton, 20, of Edgewood, inside the Royal Lands Deli in the 1700 block of Hanson Road suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body. Deputies immediately began to render medical aid. Medics arrived on scene and transported Hilton to the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for treatment. While on scene, deputies were notified of another possible victim, identified as Jamil Perry, 30, of Abingdon, who had walked into the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound to the lower body. Perry was transferred the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for further treatment of his injuries. Both are expected to recover.

The investigation was assumed by Detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. Investigators from the Forensic Services Unit responded to the area to collect and preserve physical evidence in support of the investigation.

Further investigation has discovered several apartments in the 1600 block of Ashby Square with damage from gunfire. No further injuries were reported.

Presently, no charges have been filed, and the investigation remains active and ongoing. No further information is being released at this time.
